Chicken Catching

On weekday nights throughout the season, we gather to catch our meat chickens before they are sent to harvest early the next day. These events are a great way to connect with the farm, with your food, and with friends new and old.

Please note: Our catch schedule has changed slightly due to our processors. Our final catch dates this season are:

Tuesdays, September 5, September 19th, October 3rd, October 17th.

Our very last catch of the season will be to bring our layer flock home to the greenhouse for the cold winter months, and typically occurs in late November.

Thanks for your interest in helping us catch our chickens! All of our livestock spend most of their lives on pasture, including our egg layers and meat birds. Volunteers are a real help with our chicken operations! We typically catch our layer flock in early spring to move them out to pasture, and then in late fall to bring them back to our barnyard. Throughout the summer and fall we catch our meat birds about every 2-3 weeks.
